A MAN has been charged for a series of burglaries across two south Essex towns.
Essex Police has been investigating four burglaries in Benfleet and Leigh, and a man was arrested in Hadleigh last Friday.
Three of the incidents took place in September, specifically in Central Avenue, Benfleet, Tattersall Gardens, and New Road, Leigh.
One incident took place this month in Beech Road, Benfleet.
Items stolen included jewellery, electronic devices, and bicycles.
The man arrested in Hadleigh is in his 40s, and was questioned on suspicion of burglary.
Now the force has charged John Debono, 40, with four counts of burglary.
Essex Police Detective chief inspector Rachel Jeffery said: “Burglary is among the most invasive and violating of crimes.
“We explore all investigative avenues in order to ensure people we believe to be responsible for offences are arrested and put before the courts.”
John is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
