Three people have been left injured after being attacked by a "group of men" in an early morning brawl in south Essex.

Essex Police were called to Corringham Road, in Stanford-le-Hope, after reports of an "incident" shortly after 1am on Saturday.

It was reported that a number of men had assaulted three victims.

One of those victims, a man aged in his 20s, sustained injuries to his face and torso.

The two other victims were not seriously injured.

According to unconfirmed social media reports, the incident occurred outside the Inn on the Green pub.

No arrests have been made at this stage, but Essex Police are following a number of lines of enquiry.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are investigating an incident which was reported to us shortly after 1am on Saturday, October 12, in Corringham Road, Stanford-le-Hope.

"It was reported that a number of men had assaulted three victims.

"One of those victims, a man aged in his 20s, sustained injuries to his face and torso. Thankfully, the two other victims were not seriously injured.

"Our investigation is in its early stages and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.

"No arrests have been made at this stage.

"Anyone with information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to the incident should get in contact with us as soon as possible.

"Please cite incident 59 of 12 October."
