A woman has been rushed to hospital following a crash in a Leigh which saw emergency services flood a road.
Ambulance crews, firefighters and police responded to a crash in Oakwood Avenue, off the A127, at around 11am involving two cars.
According to witnesses, a woman had to be cut from her car and a lamppost that was damaged has also had to be partially removed.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "Two ambulances and a paramedic car were sent to Oakwood Avenue, Leigh, this morning following reports of a road traffic collision.
"Two patients were assessed at the scene and one woman was transported to Southend University Hospital.
Essex Police and Essex Fire Service have also been contacted for comment.
