Residents have described the scene of a burst water main after a street in Thorpe Bay was flooded.
A video seen by the Echo showed a burst water main in Thorpe Hall Avenue, which began to cause significant flooding.
The incident occurred earlier this morning, and led to large amounts of water gushing down the street.
Cars were seen slowly crawling around the burst water main, navigating through the flooded road.
It has been confirmed that Anglian Water are responsible for this incident, and have been contacted for comment by the Echo.
Southend resident, Chris Brooks, came across the water spurting out from the road on his way to work.
He said: "I was on my way to a meeting at Windy Washers Essex, when I came across what seemed like a water feature right in the middle of the road.
"I tried contacting several companies, with no luck, but after about 30 minutes, the water eventually began to subside.
"Many cars slowed down as they drove through it, and I believe the road was eventually closed."
This is not the first time Thorpe Hall Avenue has experienced such an issue.
This comes just weeks after the road was closed on September 25, following a burst water main, which forced three schools to close due to a loss of water.
Water supplies were restored by Essex and Suffolk Water within hours, but the road was closed for almost a week for repairs to be carried out.
It is not believed at this stage that homes were left without water, but Anglian Water has been contacted for further comment by the Echo, but are yet to response.
