A new venue allowing rage-ridden and frustrated punters to smash up furniture to their heart’s content is moving to Shoebury and is set to open next week.
Angry Smash Ltd have announced that they will be moving to Shoebury’s Towerfield Industrial Estate and throwing open the doors to two “rage-rooms” on October 22.
Owner Jake Tripp, 35, had hoped to open the business in Rochford earlier this month but following a change of heart from the landlord, the business is moving closer to Jake’s other business, the Boyz, a waste management company who will be providing much of the destructible goods.
However, both Jake and his partner, Charlie, are excited to unveil their hand-built labour of love next week – and let customers smash until they no longer see red.
Jake said: “There is a silver lining in the move, it is close to core Southend and if we could have got a High Street spot, we would have taken it.
“The rooms are there now and I have been working really late, Charlie has been painting the floors and painting the kitchens and toilet to make it presentable.
“I have done construction on both rooms, we have two and one is longer and larger, another is square and there is plenty of space to swing a hammer.
“We have challenge walls as well.”
The two rage rooms which will be full of destructible items, such as “draws, buckets of glassware plates and tennis rackets, target walls so you can smash things off the walls”.
There will also be challenges and head to head match up games, that will be introduced as the business picks up customers.
Jake added: “I think this is going to be great, this sort of thing if I had this when I was younger, it would have been a massive help.
“It would save the arguments, I was a livewire when I was younger, I smashed up my room and if I could pay someone not to smash up my own stuff I would have.
“It is better to pay us £40 and you don’t have to have your mum ask you to pay to fix your TV, window or PlayStation.”
