A "police cordon" is reportedly in place on a busy road in Westcliff this evening as officers respond to an unknown incident.
Details of the incident are yet to be revealed, but residents have reportedly spotted police tape in place in Westborough Road at the junction of Silverdale Avenue.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that both the police and the ambulance service are on the scene.
Traffic in the area is building as part of the road is believed to be cordoned off.
At this stage, it is unknown what the incident is; however, updates are expected as the situation unfolds.
Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment by the Echo.
