A TEENAGER appeared at court this morning charged with attempted murder after reports a woman was stabbed in a home in Westcliff.
Aiden Croot, 18, of Silverdale Avenue, Westcliff, was charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place after reports of a stabbing.
Police were called to Silverdale Avenue at around 4.10pm yesterday afternoon following reports of a woman suffering stab wounds.
Upon swift arrival at the address, a woman was found with serious injuries, which are not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Croot appeared at Southend Magistrate's Court this morning. No plea was entered and he was remanded with the next hearing at crown court on November 12.
A cordon was put in place around the scene yesterday evening as police launched an attempted murder probe, with a large emergency service presence.
An arrest was made at the scene.
Following the incident Supt Leigh Norris said: “While we are treating this investigation very seriously, there is no continuing risk to the public due to the isolated nature of this incident."
