A rail firm in south Essex is warning customers to plan ahead and be flexible with their travel plans during the Christmas and New Year period.
c2c has released details of their Christmas and New Year timetable with engineering works impacting some of the services.
With essential maintenance planned and holiday schedules in effect, travellers are urged to remain flexible and allow for potential changes to their journeys across the festive season.
c2c services will be operating as follows:
- Monday, December 23: Normal service.
- Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve): Last trains will be earlier than usual.
- Wednesday, December 25 and Thursday, December 26 (Christmas Day and Boxing Day): No service.
- Friday, December 27: Reduced service. Usual “Saturday” service.
- Saturday, December 28 and Sunday, December 29: Liverpool Street station will be closed; all services will run to and from Fenchurch Street. Usual Saturday and Sunday service.
- Monday, December 30: Reduced service with engineering works between Laindon and Shoeburyness after 12:10am. Usual “Saturday” service.
- Tuesday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve): Reduced service. Usual “Saturday” service.
- Wednesday, January 1 (New Year’s Day): Reduced service. Usual “Sunday” service.
Rob Mullen, c2c’s managing director, emphasized the importance of planning ahead.
He said: “Most of our services will be running normally over the festive period to allow our customers to travel across the c2c route, but there will be earlier last train times on Christmas Eve and other timetable changes due to the bank holidays.
“We are encouraging our customers to plan ahead, check before they travel, and be flexible with their plans.”
Passengers are also reminded to check for the latest travel updates and schedule changes before heading to stations.
