A LARGE new Greggs store where shoppers can sit down and enjoy their sausage rolls or steak bakes is preparing to open its doors at Eastgate shopping centre tomorrow.
The new cafe is replacing the smaller store just metres away at Basildon's bus station, with staff being moved over from the former branch which had faced criticism from residents over a lack of seating and long queues during busy periods.
Resident and keen photographer Roy Davis was given an exclusive look inside the bigger store, located at the bus station entrance to the Eastgate, ahead of its grand opening tomorrow.
The fresh images show a large, open interior with plenty of room for indoor dining.
A spokesman for Eastgate shopping centre said: "We’re super excited to welcome Greggs to the Eastgate family.
"Now, we know there’s already other Greggs in the town centre, but hey – the more the merrier, right?
"Plus, it’s another bustling unit bringing even more life to Eastgate, and we’re all about offering more options for our visitors. We always appreciate new food vendors joining us and helping to make Eastgate an even more vibrant place to shop and relax.
"Pop in and grab your favourite bakes – we can't wait to see you there."
