Damaged signals are causing disruptions across train services in South Essex.
C2c has informed travellers to expect cancellations to services on all routes today after lightning damaged the signalling system at Shoeburyness last night.
In a statement, the train operator said: “Train services running across the whole c2c network may be cancelled, delayed or revised.”
Disruptions to the services are expected to last until 10am while engineers are working to fix the signalling system.
