AN award-winning farm in the Essex area has been featured in a national BBC television programme.

Fairfields Farm, in Fordham Road, Wormingford, has appeared in an episode of Countryfile yesterday evening.

Countryfile is a BBC weekly documentary series which covers stories related to rural, agricultural and environmental issues, it first aired in 1988.

As a popular manufacturer of crisps, Countryfile presenter Joe Crowley visited Fairfields Farm during the peak of harvest season to learn about the challenges faced by potato farmers.

During the episode, viewers learned about issues such as soaring production costs, unpredictable weather conditions, and received a behind-the-scenes look at the farm’s production line.
