THE family of a vulnerable man last seen more than six months ago have issued a fresh plea for help as they grow increasingly worried about him.
Stephen Taylor, who relies on daily medication, has not been seen since April 13 despite numerous missing people appeals from Essex Police.
The 57-year-old is from Basildon but his family believe he could be anywhere in south Essex and he has links to Southend, Canvey and Laindon.
His family desperately pleaded for the public’s help after he went missing, and weeks of searching for him led to nothing.
Six months on, his family are still holding out hope that Stephen will be found.
David Taylor, his brother, said: “He is still missing. We have had no contact or any reported sightings of him still.
“His mobile phone has not been used since April. Heartbreakingly it is not looking good.
“We are just all desperate for some news one way or another.
“As you can imagine it has been so painful. We have no idea where he is, what happened to him.
“Over the last months, we have looked and looked. We have been everywhere, but still no sign of him.
“We are going through the emotions, and it makes it even harder not knowing. We just don’t know what to do anymore.
“We are just heartbroken.”
Stephen’s family say no money has gone from his bank account since he went missing, and there hasn’t been any activity on his phone since April 15.
He has been described as white, 6ft 1ins tall, of large build and has brown shaved hair.
Stephen also wears glasses and was last seen wearing a long-sleeved maroon and dark blue rugby shirt with a white stripe around the body and a white collar and grey tracksuit bottoms.
He also wears a St Christopher necklace and has a ring on the small finger of his left hand with “Stephen” or “Steve” engraved on it. His appearance and attire are likely to have changed.
The latest Essex Police appeal stated: “We are using all the tools which are available to us to find Stephen.
“As well as that, I would ask that the public really familiarise themselves with Stephen’s image and if anyone sees him, or thinks they may have seen, please contact us as soon as possible on either 101 or 999."

Essex Police has been contacted for an updated statement.
