A HALLOWEEN fanatic has gone even "bigger than ever" with more than 30,000 lights to create a spectacular light show in Southend, complete with zombies and actors.
Mark Sutton, 54, has become well-known in the area for his bright and colourful light show at his home over the Halloween and Christmas season.
He is back again this year with his biggest display yet, in Eros Avenue, with the new addition of live actors.
Mark utilises modern pixel lighting to synchronise his light shows to music, creating a colourful and immersive experience.
Last year, he used the lights to create a haunted mansion feel, with an archway, and this year, live actors have been added to the scene.
He will be hosting three shows in total, with the first between 6pm and 8pm on Sunday, October 27.
The second is also between 6pm and 8pm on Tuesday, October 29, with the final show on Halloween itself, between 5pm and 9pm.
Mark said: “I always love this time of year when the nights draw in, and the autumn colours are everywhere.
“It is when lights are so important to lift the spirits.
“And I just love doing the lightshows because it cheers everyone up, including me, as we go into winter.
“This year, we are going bigger with an extra 10,000 lights, taking the total to 30,000 now.
“We have expanded the Haunt this year and made it even more spooky with live actors, and a few jump scares.”
New lights have also been added including Frankenstein, singing pumpkins, a mega skull and a flying skeleton.
Mark will be raising money for Southend Samaritans for a second year after volunteering for them several years ago.
Last year he raised more than £2,000 and Mark hopes to beat his total again for such a vital charity in the area.
He added: “We do it for the community, as it is so lovely to see so many people come and enjoy it.
“We get people coming from far away as well as lots of local people. “I love the community feel of lots of people coming together and chatting on the street.
“When we first started in 2021 it was a tiny show, just as I was getting used to the technology.
“One pumpkin and a couple of graves which took a couple of days to install.
“Now we have got 30,000 lights and it takes months to put up. It’s worth it though to see everyone enjoy it and raise money for our local Southend Samaritans.”
