More than a dozen members of Essex and Suffolk Water's Integrated Delivery Services team took part in a beach clean at Southend Beach.
Armed with equipment kindly loaned by Southend Beach Care, the team spent the afternoon helping to spruce up the sands.
They found some unusual items, including a toilet seat, underwear, shoes, and a hat.
The initiative was part of ongoing efforts to support local environmental care, with the team ensuring the beach was left cleaner and safer for the community and wildlife.
A spokesman for Essex and Suffolk Water said: “A toilet seat, underwear, shoes, and a hat… sounds like a quirky reboot of The Generation Game, but actually these were some of the stranger items found by members of our team, when they carried out a beach clean on Southend Beach.
“The 16 team members used equipment kindly loaned by Win, the team behind Southend Beach Care, to spend the afternoon giving the sands a spruce up.
“Well done team.”
