Essex Police's Road Crime Team have seized nine vehicles in a single day during an insurance check operation in Castle Point.
The operation is part of an ongoing effort to ensure road safety across the county, with more than 3,000 uninsured cars, vans, and motorbikes confiscated in 2024 alone.
The police urged drivers to make sure their vehicles are properly insured, reminding the public that staying compliant helps keep Essex roads safer for everyone.
In addition to the vehicle seizures, a 21-year-old man from Dagenham was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after being found in an uninsured car.
He was later released under investigation.
Essex Police are continuing to crack down on uninsured drivers as part of their commitment to improving road safety, and they encourage motorists to check their insurance status to avoid similar consequences.
A spokesman added: "Our Road Crime Team has seized nine vehicles in one day while they carry out insurance check on drivers across Castle Point.
"It is all part of our work to keep the roads in Essex safe.
"Make sure your vehicle is insured and play your part in keeping in making Essex roads safer."
