HAPPY Mondays and Black Grape frontman, Shaun Ryder, will perform a new spoken word show at Basildon’s Towngate Theatre next year.
The unpredictable star, who has recently starred in Celebrity Gogglebox and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, will bring his spoken word poetry to Basildon on 25 April 2025.
The Madchester icon’s tour will support the release of his new book, Happy Mondays – and Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays. The book will detail the excesses and adventures of one of Britain’s most outrageous bands.
The Happy Mondays were formed in Salford in 1980 and released four albums during their career.
The band’s best performing UK chart singles both came from their 1990 release, Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches. Their top hits Step On and Kinky Afro both reached number 5 in the UK top 40.
