A FATHER and son duo who went viral for their wacky Yorkshire pudding Halloween costume have teamed up with a producer to create a Christmas single.
45-year-old James Paley got a Halloween shock last week as the costume he made for 13-year-old, son, Aaron, became a viral sensation.
After posting videos and photos of the carb-heavy costume to TikTok, James and Aaron quickly began receiving thousands of views, likes and supportive comments.
In the days since, the pair have appeared on ITV’s This Morning and in a host of national newspapers.
The Paleys are now eyeing up their next adventure – a number. 1 Christmas single.
“We’ve got Distant Soundz producing the song and went down to the studio to begin recording yesterday.
“Everybody who’s heard it has had such a positive reaction” he said.
James says the song will tackle diversity and loneliness from the perspective of Yorkshire Pudding Boy.
“We’re hoping to raise a bit of mental health awareness and point out that not everyone is the same.
“Yorkshire Pudding Boy may look like a monster but in reality, he just wants to be loved,” said James.
The Christmas single will feature vocals from the family and be released towards the beginning of December. James believes that the song has a shot at reaching the top of the Christmas charts.
Aaron, who assumed the role of Yorkshire Pudding Boy after his older brother aged out the tradition, has a background in performance and James hopes this will help their chances of chart success.
“This character has been a part of our family life for the last ten years, so we’ve got so many ideas to bring to life,” said James.
He added: “We’re working on merchandise, aprons and T-shirts. We’ve always made-up stories about Yorkshire Pudding Boy and now we’re looking at actually building those stories out into kids books”.
