A MAN has been charged in connection with a 'serious' collision that took place in Hadleigh in May.
The collision involved a red BMW and a red Volkswagen on London road, with two people taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Officers arrested two men.
Sean Kirkham, of Longtown Road, Brampton, Cumbria, has now been charged in connection to the collision.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "A man is due in court later this month charged in connection with a serious collision in Hadleigh in May."
"A red BMW and a red Volkswagen were in collision in London Road at around 9.10pm on Thursday 2 May.
"Two people sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital and two men were arrested.
"One of the arrested men – Sean Kirkham, of Longtown Road, Brampton, Cumbria – has now been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drink driving, and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
"He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on 18 November.
"The second man arrested has since been told he faces no further action."
