ESSEX POLICE have issued a disposal order following fears that 300 people plan to attend an unlicensed music event in the area.
Officers 'received information' about an event taking place in the Grange Avenue area of Mayland, in Maldon, with around 300 people planning to attend.
The newly issued disposal order is in place from today at 4pm (2 November) until November 4 at 4pm.
The order covers Myland and extends beyond Green lane to the south.
It also covers areas up to Loftman’s and Little Ashtree Farms in the east, Tideway and Greenlane Farms in the west, and the Imperial Avenue area of Maylandsea in the north.
Acting Inspector Matt Dalby said: “There isn’t permission for this event and as such the proper safety arrangements are not in place."
“We know from experience that unlicenced music events can be the cause of anti-social behaviour, disrupting nearby residents because of the noise and number of people attending.
“This dispersal order gives us the power to direct people to leave the area of face arrest.
“We will always use the tools available to us to keep people safe and protect them from crime, disorder, and anti-social behaviour.”
