A TEENAGER was sent home with his mother as Essex Police dispersed several groups of youths on firework night.
Essex Police issued two dispersal orders on Canvey and in Benfleet last night to prevent anti-social use of fireworks after reported trouble on Halloween.
Officers from the Castle Point community policing team patrolled the district yesterday to keep the community safe from harm following the implementation of the two dispersal orders.
In total, officers attend nine firework and anti-social behaviour related incidents on Canvey and four across Benfleet last night.
On Canvey, police also had cause to disperse several groups of youths from within the dispersal area.
A 15-year-old boy from the island was seen by officers to be in possession of fireworks, he was detained and arrested as he initially refused to provide details.
The boy’s mother arrived, and he was subsequently de-arrested and taken home.
Officers say he will also be dealt with later by the Community Policing Team.
