Patrons have praised the newly reopened Shoebury Hotel for bringing back “their pub” and added it is better than ever.
Residents have said they are loving the new look of the venue and much prefer it over other venues in the area.
They had been left upset by the pub’s sudden closure in August this year and hailed the new managers, William and Caroline, for their work restoring it.
Mark Sutton, 56, from Shoebury, said residents had been left heartbroken after losing the venue, and praised the “aesthetically pleasing” renovation.
He said: “It’s always been the local, it’s been nice that it’s always been here. When it closed, it was upsetting.
“With the refurbishment, it’s really aesthetically pleasing. It’s good to see.”
Husband and wife, Trevor and Sandra Costa, aged 60 and 74, were really pleased to be back at their local.
Sandra said: “I think it’s been done up really well, I’m really looking forward to the food once it’s here.
Trevor said: “The refurbishment is exceptional, the staff are really friendly and welcoming.
“I would recommend anyone who can come to do so.”
Husband and wife, Gary and Sharon Reed, aged 68 and 66, were very pleased to have an “actual pub” in walking distance.
Sandra said: “We used to come here, it’s much better now. It’s really nice to be able to walk here and have a couple of drinks.
