A SCHOOL where teachers are “helping pupils become smarter ever day” has been praised by inspectors following a positive Ofsted inspection.
Ghyllgrove Primary School, on The Gore, Basildon, was rated “good” in every categories following a two day inspection on September 24 and 25.
The school, which has more than 600 pupils, was praised for creating a positive environment that encourages learning and uses an ambitious curriculum for all pupils.
Following the inspection, the school retained the “good” rating it was handed at its last full inspection in 2019.
The report, published yesterday, stated: “Pupils enjoy coming to school because they know that teachers are going to help them to be smarter.
“The positive professional relationships that pupils have with adults help them to feel safe.
“Staff encourage pupils to work hard. Pupils are proud when their efforts are praised. They love to celebrate each other’s achievements in weekly celebration assemblies.
“The school is ambitious for all pupils, including those in the early years and pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
“Overall, pupils achieve well. Pupils with SEND, including those in the specially resourced provision for pupils with SEND, are fully integrated into school life.”
The school has been consistently rated as good since 2013 and was praised for continuing to make improvements.
The report added: “ There have been significant improvements at the school in recent years.
“The school has reviewed the curriculum and has implemented a broad, ambitious and balanced curriculum that starts in the early years.
“Teachers provide regular opportunities for pupils to revisit important knowledge and skills. This helps pupils to remember and use this knowledge easily.”
Rachelle Tidiman, headteacher at Ghyllgrove Primary School, said: “We are incredibly proud that Ghyllgrove Community Primary School has received ‘Good’ in all areas from Ofsted.
“This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our wonderful pupils, and the support of our parents and community.
“I feel very honoured to lead such a wonderful school.”
