A CAR has crashed into a Colchester shop with the scene being cordoned off.
Emergency services are at the scene at the Co-op in Iceni Way after the incident this morning.
Pictures show a red car crashed into the entrance of the shop, with police cars surrounding the area.
Essex Fire and Rescue, Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance service were called to the scene.
It is unknown the extent of any injuries yet, however, one witness said they saw a man being put on a stretcher and taken away by ambulance.
A spokesman for the East of England Co-op, said: “Our immediate priority is to make sure we are doing all we can to assist the emergency services.
"We’re unable to provide any further information at this time.”
It is understood the road was blocked but is now open.
