Southend United has launched a new charitable initiative, the "United in Giving" campaign, aimed at supporting a south Essex charity this Christmas.
Through this campaign, Southend United is encouraging fans and the community to come together to make a positive impact on the lives of patients and families cared for by Havens hospices.
In December, head coach Kevin Maher and his squad will visit Fair Havens, a hospice for adults located in Prittlewell, and Little Havens, a hospice for babies, children and young people located in Benfleet, to bring festive cheer and deliver gifts to patients.
This will be made possible through the generosity of Southend United supporters.
Donations will not only fund gifts, but also support Havens’ Gift of Kindness program, providing meaningful activities and services for families, especially those that may be sadly spending their last holiday season together.
Contributions will also support essential services like hydrotherapy, in-home care, counselling, pain management, and end-of-life support.
Additionally, all donations from fans will be matched by the club, doubling the impact of each contribution.
Fans can choose to donate £1, £5, £10, £20, or £50 via the donation page, with 100 per cent of funds going directly to this initiative and any remaining contributions supporting Havens Hospices’ year-round work.
