Several restaurants, cafes, and pubs in Basildon, have received top food hygiene ratings this week, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five meaning hygiene standards are very good, and zero meaning urgent improvement is required.
Here are the establishments in Basildon that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:
- ESSEX BBQ, 69 The Gore, Basildon, Essex, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 24.
- George's Cafe, 18 Station Lane, Pitsea, Basildon, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 24.
- Maggio Lounge, 50-52 High Street, Billericay, Essex, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 23.
- Jolly Friar Public House, Whitmore Way, Basildon, Essex, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 24.
- Great Chalvedon Hall, Rectory Road, Pitsea, Basildon, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 18.
- The Noak Bridge, 45 Wash Road, Laindon, Basildon, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 15.
- Wing Hing Chinese Takeaway, 310 Southend Road, Wickford, Essex, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 15.
