A teenage cyclist remains in serious condition after being hit by a car in Basildon, as police continue their investigation.
Emergency services rushed to the junction of Southernhay and Station Way in Basildon yesterday afternoon.
This was following reports of a serious crash involving a car and a cyclist.
Essex Police has since confirmed the cyclist, an 18-year-old man, remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Following the crash, a significant emergency service response remained on the scene for several hours.
A cordon and a road closure were also put in place.
Officers say the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
A spokesman for Essex Police added: "If anyone has any information which could assist us with our enquiries, please get in touch.
"Please cite incident 547 of November 17."
