Finding a good barber is often at the top of a person’s to-do list when moving to a new place, or just looking to shake things up.
Thankfully, there are dozens of great barbers in Southend that span the full range of styles, price points and atmospheres.
To make your life easier, we’ve selected three of the city’s top rated barbers to take a look at:
Clifford’s Barbershop
Located in the City’s Southchurch neighbourhood, Clifford’s has been owned by Nickiey for years.
The mother of three is an expert at kids cuts and particularly welcomes those who may need some extra time and attention.
While Clifford’s has the look of a traditional barber shop, it’s haircuts couldn’t be fresher.
A Facebook review of the shop by Georgee Husher said: “Nickiey was amazing! She seemed to read my mind about what I wanted done with my hair and it looks so much healthier and thicker now. I’d never use anyone else, five stars.”
L’s Barbers
If you’re looking for something bold and brave, L’s Barbers may just be for you.
The shop’s Facebook page shows an array of styles, with many featuring eye-catching shaved-in designs.
L’s Barbers describes itself as “a modern, professional and friendly environment” and is located on Earls Hall Parade, Prince Avenue.
A Facebook review of the shop by Tony Groves said: “By far the best around, won’t have anyone else cut my hair, if for any reason he’s not about, my hair don’t get cut, I actually left my hair for about 2 to 3 months before he got his shop open, won’t go to anyone else, very friendly and also a perfect haircut, would highly recommend.”
Roman’s Barber
With multiple awards under their belt, and over 20 years in business, it’s no surprise that Roman’s Barbers is often considered among the best in the city.
The shop is conveniently located on Clifftown Rd, making it an ideal choice for commuters from Southend station and those who work in the city centre.
The barbers at Roman’s are skilled and able to deliver a range of modern and traditional haircuts.
A Facebook review of the shop by Ashley Salmon said: “Took my 1 year old son into Romans this afternoon and could not fault them one bit they were amazing with him and the hair cut looks even better! I’ve always gone there myself so was about time I introduced my son to the best barbers in Southend.”
