A number of restaurants, cafes, and pubs in Southend have received new food hygiene ratings this week, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.
Here are the establishments in Southend and surrounding areas that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:
- Toppers & Toast, 202 Leigh Road, Leigh was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on November 5.
- The Inn At Belfairs, Park Cafe, Belfairs Park, Eastwood Road North, Leigh was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on November 15.
- Ten Green Bottles (Wrap Culture), 11-13 Rectory Grove, Leigh was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on November 9.
- Jerk Island Grill, 132 Sutton Road, Southend, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on November 4.
- Redds Cafe, 144 Sutton Road, Southend, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on November 4.
- The Barking Brew Coffee House, 147 Woodgrange Drive, Southend, was handed a four-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 16.
- Shagor Tandoori Restaurant, 108 Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 31.
- The Hamlet Court, 54 Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, was handed a five-out-of-five, after an assessment on October 28.
