A HAIRDRESSER has been left without a working phone line or internet after 55mph winds pulled down part of a telephone pole near her business.
Amy Dixon, owner of Knot Just Hair in Castle Mews, Hadleigh, has been left feeling the impact of Storm Bert after strong winds battered the county over the weekend.
Her business has been left without phone connection or internet, which she relies upon for bookings, after the high wind speeds ripped down telecom cables running to her business and damaging the mast.

Yesterday she was forced to call all of her clients to inform them of the situation and rely on social media to continue to manage the business.
Amy said: “It was a set of telecoms wires, they had to close the road off for a while.
“It was outside the shop, we have no number, or internet or phone line now and luckily enough we don’t work on Monday but we are trying to rearrange our whole day today.
“The company are good but we have to go through so many different places to get this fixed and it will be quite a while.”
The business has advised customers to message them on Facebook “if you would like to make or change an appointment and we will get back to you as soon as possible”.
Amy is hoping the issue is resolved as soon as possible, fearing it could have a major impact on the independent business if problems continue throughout the week.
She added: “We are also wanting people to know that we can’t take card payment, it is hard to get a hold of us and we haven’t had any cancellations but we do have a few elderly clients.
“I am not sure they will want to come in, we are just lucky this is not nearer to Christmas really. This week and last week for us are fairly quiet but the week after is when we will be impacted.”
Storm Bert caused significant disruption throughout south Essex, with train lines particularly affected by the huge strong gusts of wind and Greater Anglia facing severe disruption due to fallen trees on the line.
