THE popular Christmas Light Switch-On returns to Rayleigh for with an evening of fun, family and festive spirit.
The event will be held on Rayleigh High Street from 4pm to 6.30pm, and is set to feature food stalls, Children’s rides, game stalls, Christmas gift shopping and an appearance from Santa.
Various choirs will take to the stage to provide entertainment from 4pm, with the main switch-on happening at 6.30pm.
Grove Wood Primary School Choir will kick off the performances with BBC Essex hosting the stage from 4.35pm.
Previous switch-on events in the town have been popular with residents.
Public toilets will be open at Crown Hill, King George V Playing Field and the Pink Toothbrush throughout the evening.
Medical services will also be on stand-by at the bus bay opposite the switch-on stage.
Rayleigh High Street will be closed for traffic between 1.45 pm and 9 pm with bus services not stopping at Rayleigh High Street, Hull Lane and Websters Way bus stops.
