A LAMBORGHINI owner has slammed graffiti yobs who vandalised his “pride and joy” during a spray-painting spree in Lakeside Shopping Centre’s car park.
Tej Ryatt has been left furious after graffiti was sprayed on the side of his Lamborghini Gallarado, worth tens of thousands of pounds, on Wednesday night.
According to the 40-year-old, at least five cars were vandalised including his car and a pricey Mercedes.
Lakeside Shopping Centre stated it had received reports of “minor vandalism” and the incident has been reported to Essex Police.
Tej said: “I had only gone for dinner, just before 7pm, then I left around 9pm, and as I got to the car, someone approached me, to tell me to check the side of my car.
“I went back into the shopping centre, and there was another guy talking to security already about his car being vandalised as well.
“At first, I thought, I had just been singled out and targeted, I almost felt a bit better than it wasn’t just me affected.
“But the security team were really good; we had a walk around and there were at least four or five other cars affected.
“It does put you off going though. It is a bit of a shock and very frustrating.
“Whether it is a five-minute joke to someone, it is hours and hours to other people trying to clean it off and check for damage.
“It is wrong. When you work so hard for something, whatever car it is, and someone does that, it isn’t nice.”
Lakeside confirmed that the incident is being investigated by the police, and that it is being taken extremely seriously.
A spokesman for Lakeside Shopping Centre said: “We can confirm a minor vandalism incident occurred on the evening of November 27, which is being investigated by the police.
“It is really important to us that Lakeside remains a safe and enjoyable place to visit.
“That is why we take any form of anti-social behaviour extremely seriously and we will always involve the authorities when incidents do occur.”
