A MAJOR college has unveiled new learning facilities after an investment in cutting-edge technology to ensure students “gain the skills they need” to progress their careers.
USP College’s Seevic Campus in Runnymede Chase, Benfleet, officially opened its new and highly-anticipated immersive theatre, engineering workshops and sports science building on Friday.
The “immersive theatre”, described as “more than just a theatre” and a “stage without limits” is a facility allowing lectures, workshops and virtual conferences.
Dan Pearson, CEO of USP College, said: “Our goal is to break down geographical barriers and create a space that allows our students to connect with world-class educators, enhancing their learning experience.”
The college spans three campuses comprised in Benfleet, Grays and Canvey.
The theatre, which is a physical lecture theatre on the campus, allows people not physically present in the room to partake in and involve themselves in the campus’ learning.
Mr Pearson added: “The unveiling of these new facilities is a proud moment for us.
“These facilities provide a space where our students will gain practical, hands-on experience using industry-standard technology and equipment.
“These facilities are integral to our mission of providing our students with the tools and experiences they need to succeed in their chosen industries.”
The new additions build on the success of the Hospital Simulation Suite the college introduced last year to help T-Level Health students and the college’s network of “immersive” classrooms.
The college also unveiled its new MedTech and Sports Sciences Building, home to an industry-standard medical and sport testing suite, digital suite and veterinary skills lab.
Mr Pearson said: “These investments allow us to expand on our already impressive suite of innovative and immersive learning spaces. As a college, we’re committed to developing essential digital skills that align with the rapidly evolving needs of industry, for students and staff to deliver the skills of tomorrow, today.”
According to the college, students have enjoyed the range of new spaces alongside staff, enjoying AI workshops, athlete sport fitness testing and more.
