More than £50,000 of stolen plant machinery set to be shipped out of the country has been recovered in north Essex.
Essex Police have confirmed they recovered three industrial compressors between November 25 and November 27.
They confirmed they had received reports of an industrial compressor, worth an estimated £13,000, being stolen from Little Hallingbury on November 25.
Police were able to find a lorry at Harwich port on November 27 where they located the compressor, as well as two more compressors and smaller equipment.
Officers have recovered stolen plant machinery worth more than £50,000 before it was shipped out of the country.
Detective Chief Inspector Neal Miller said: “We regularly conduct checks at our ports for high-value machinery like this.
“Thanks to the work of these officers this stolen equipment will remain in the UK, or else it may never have been recovered.”
The machinery will be forensically examined before its rightful owners are identified and the equipment returned.
