A PEDESTRIAN who was "thrown six feet into the air" after being hit by a car on a zebra crossing has thanked witnesses and passers-by for their support.
Frankie Ryan, 26, was crossing Knightswick Road ahead of Canvey's Christmas switch-on when he was struck by a car on Saturday afternoon.
Despite his impact breaking the windscreen of the car, Frankie only sustained minor bruising and has thanks those who offered support and assistance in the aftermath of the accident.

“I’ve tried to reach out to a lot of the people who helped me at the scene because everyone there was just so kind.
“They comforted me in a state of shock, and I am very grateful that they were there.”
Frankie has singled out the staff of Richard Poyntz estate agents, who witnessed the accident and came out to comfort him.
Emergency services were already in the town centre in preparation of the festive lights switch-on – meaning paramedics and police were on the scene within minutes.
“One witness said I was thrown six feet into the air, but it could have been far worse,” Frankie added.
“While it shouldn’t have happened in the first place, I was very lucky in every aspect of the accident.”
According to Frankie, the driver of the vehicle that struck him was an older gentleman, who pulled over and was very apologetic.
Following Saturday’s accident, Frankie has claimed that the zebra crossing on Knightswick Road has seen numerous similar incidents in recent years.
He says he hopes that Castle Point Council will investigate what can be done to prevent future accidents.
“In the grand scheme of things, I am fine, but I’m not the first person to have something like this happen to them at this spot.
“It’s well known for being dangerous to pedestrians and I hope the council will look into how to make it safer.”
