Traffic is building on the A127 after reports of a crash near a major junction in Southend.
"Severe delays" are increasing on the main road, according to AA, with motorists reporting traffic is at standstill London-bound after a crash at Kent Elms.
Ambulances are on the scene of the incident close to the turn off into Bridgwater Drive.
Emergency services have been contacted for comment.
