Hard men turned born-again Christians will help launch Colchester’s newest church.
The Tough Talk team will visit Kingsland Church in Lexden Road next Sunday to join in the celebrations and discuss their personal journeys.
Rev Neil Loxley explained some of the group are ex-bouncers and former East End hard men who have turned their backs on their pasts.
“They travel throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide, performing power lifting demonstrations as a backdrop to telling their amazing stories,” he added.
The visit from Tough Talk is just one highlight of a full weekend of activities celebrating the move to the former MFI building, which took place just before Christmas.
Church members will also welcome a gospel choir, puppeteers, drummers and representatives from the fire service, police and military.
The fun, which is free and open to all, starts at 2pm on Saturday.
