The snake mosaic at the entrance to Southend Hospital is a symbol of healing to me.

I have been treated most successfully and appreciate the professionalism of the staff.

I am also a Christian and am reminded of the account in the Book of Numbers in the Bible which states: “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live’.”

I would love to see the same prominence to this matter as that given to the banning of flowers in the wards and the threat to the WRVS tea shop. All very import matters to local people.
