A £20,000 reward has been offered by a man who wants justice after escaping death from multiple stab wounds.

Chris Davies, 43, from Billericay, is desperate to find the two men who attacked him at 6.30am on February 23 this year.

He was stabbed in his leg, side and arm before being left for dead at his workplace in Stondon Massey.

A passer-by spotted him 15 minutes later and he was taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, where he spent three days on a life support machine being treated for the stab wounds and a collapsed lung.

It took another eight weeks before Mr Davies was able to do light work again at the Piggeries, in Woolmongers Lane, where he is a groundworker.

Since the incident, Essex Police have arrested seven people, but all have been released without charge.

Mr Davies decided to offer the generous reward to anyone who can help find the crooks who carried out the terrible attack as an incentive to help the investigation.

He said: “The police have done what they have done and I have been given the CCTV footage from the morning. In February 2011 it will be going on Crimewatch, so I cannot release the footage at present.

“I thought by putting up the money it would act as an extra incentive and it might bring someone, who knows something, out of the woodwork .

“At the end of the day somebody knows something about who tried to kill me, and they must be brought to justice.”

Officers from the Essex Serious Crime Directorate are still investigating the matter and are also appealing for witnesses.
