The various comments and statements (Nov 9) regarding the Ecclesiastical fears for the eviction of the travellers made interesting reading.
Bishop Thomas was quoted as saying: “Alongside the humanitarian concerns, we have to ask if an extremely expensive operation to evict the travellers is a good use of public money in the straitened times.”
The people who call themselves travellers have been stationary on this site for many years, and therefore do not travel.
The Church leaders cannot turn a blind eye and support these people knowing the travellers have broken planning law.
For Church leaders to support them in continuing with their illegal activities is a sin. Shame on them.
