LONWABO Tsotsobe has been left out of our match at Surrey because he is not playing well – simple as that.
It doesn’t matter if you are one of our overseas players or not, if you are struggling for form then you won’t play.
To be honest, I think Lopsy came over here under-prepared and for an international player that is a huge disappointment.
He didn’t realise how tough county cricket is and that has shocked him a bit.
Our bowling coach Chris Silverwood has been working with him at Chelmsford this week and he’ll be available for Sunday’s match against the Unicorns and two more Championship matches after that before he goes home.
RAVI DESERVES TEST PLACE
THE Press seem to have billed England’s Lions match against Sri Lanka has a bat-off between Ravi Bopara and Eoin Morgan for a spot in England’s Test team.
All I know is that Ravi is in good form at the moment and would create a really good balance in the England team.
He could bat at number six and help the bowlers out by bowling a few overs.
He scored a wonderful century in our second innings against Derbyshire last week.
He looked a really classy batsman so he’ll be looking forward to playing on that pitch again for the Lions.
My advice to him all summer has been to not put pressure on himself and say whatever will be, will be.
But I know, if he does get selected for that first Test, then he will have deserved it.
