I am pleased Havens Hospice is pushing forward with the application to build a new hospice on the green belt, off Belton Way, Leigh.
My wife is a cancer patient and recently spent three weeks in the Westcliff hospice for pain management.
Many patients spend their last days in these establishments in peace and quiet.
For something of this nature to use a little of the green belt would be most appropriate. The outlying marshes are that vast I cannot see it being much of an intrusion.
The offices and bistro mentioned will probably be an integral part of the hospice for use by both patients and visiting relatives and friends.
I am in full agreement with the scheme and hope permission is granted.
