Job Title:Distribution Controller - Thurrock (25 hours per week)

The Role:

This is a brand new role working in our Free Newspaper Distribution Department.
You will be part of a team of 10 Distribution Controllers each of whom manages Distributors, who deliver the local free papers to homes and businesses in the area. The role will be based at our local office, but a large proportion of working hours will be spent with the distributors, who work from home. As this role involves contact with young people, it is subject to CRB disclosure.

Duties will include

Recruiting, training and motivating distributors.
Dealing with customer queries and complaints
Ensuring 100% distribution efficiency is maintained
Updating computer records and general administrative tasks relating to these duties.

The Person

You live in or near to Thurrock.
You are enthusiastic and have a positive personality.
You are extremely organised and an excellent communicator, with great attention to detail.
You are comfortable working independently and as part of a team and used to working to deadlines.
You have a flexible approach to work and are able to use your initiative to solve problems “on the hoof”.
You have the use of a car or other suitable vehicle and a clean driving licence.

Ideally you will be computer literate and have previous experience of door to door delivery. However, this is not essential as full training will be provided.

The Package

Working Hours 12 noon to 6.35pm 4 days per week (not weekends)
Salary £9750 plus bonus potential
Mileage allowance
6.6 weeks holiday (inclusive of bank/public holiday entitlement)
