Once more Castle Point and Essex County councils are thumbing their noses at Canvey. Yesterday there was an article on three areas which has made me feel a little mad. Firstly, the £500 required by the local council for a three-year lease for the Sensory Gardens and the Bumblebee Park on the Seafront here.
Next, the council might not pick up litter on Concord Beach, the care of which will, hopefully, be taken over by the town council later this month.
This is the busiest part of the seafront, especially when the children are on holiday. Most rubbish is found in that area.
Finally the county is concerned about the idea of six trees being planted in Furtherwick Road, although a Big Tree Plant, scheme is nationally in action. For goodness sake, all these objectives would be an asset to all who live, play and use these places.
We have the cards stacked against us. Let common sense prevail.
