Why a petition for leniency toward the death crash Dr Aloke Basu (June 6)?

How would the 400 petitioners feel if their grandmother had died at the hands of what appears to be an irresponsible and selfish motorist, who had been advised at least twice to notify the DVLA of his considerable eyesight problems?

Did they read what they were signing?

Your final paragraph cites a supporter as saying: “You cannot take back what has been done, but all we want is for the judge to know what sort of person he is.” On the evidence, it speaks for itself.
