A BLUEPRINT setting out radical changes to the county’s police force to help make massive savings, will be unveiled in a matter of weeks.
The report, dubbed the Blueprint for the Future of Policing in Essex, will be revealed for the first time in August.
It is expected to reveal how the force is proposing to make £45million of savings by 2014.
Hundreds of support staff have already been made redundant and police officers who have retired, have not been replaced.
But the report is expected to outline which police stations and buildings may be sold, which posts may be cut, changes to police shift patterns, the centralisation of some units and potential changes to the force’s divisional structure.
Essex Police’s Chief Constable Jim Barker-McCardle said over the next six to seven weeks the county’s force will be consulting with residents over the blueprint at public events as well as through an online survey.
The finalised report will then be presented later this summer.
