I was amazed to read the planning difficulties with the Disability Essex shed, but having thought about it had a little laugh.
When I was making alterations to our house, we had visits by the building inspectors at every stage to ensure everything was done to regulations and everything was correct for the next stage of the job.
Nothing was done without permission from the inspectors.
When it was all finished we had a visit from the inspectors to get it all signed off. Simple you may think.
Think again! The final inspection found 21 faults, all of which had been approved by – you guessed it – the building inspectors!
No point in arguing. It was a case of “what I say goes” was the answer.
It is a pity the inspectors don’t all sing from the same songsheet. It would have saved me a fortune. The same as it would have saved this charity time effort and money.
It’s a shame there is no recourse against this sort of unnecessary and totally unprofessional behaviour.
We can’t get away with anything, so why should these people, who we pay after all is said and done, be allowed to do so?
I hope this charity manages to get it all sorted out soon.
