F Partridge suggests (June 10) cyclists who ride in Southend’s pedestrian precinct should be given fines or be put in cells for a night.
This person has obviously never spent a night in the cells with thieves, rapists, drink drivers and other criminals.
I don’t see riding a bike on the path as a criminal offence, especially when most of the cyclists are children or, as in my case, am disabled due to being hit by a car while riding on the road.
I do not qualify for disability status, even though I can only walk 50 yards.
Let’s put all the mobility scooters in the road. They scoot along a lot faster than most bikes do. Even better, why not let children or grandchildren play in traffic?
