IT was a bit nervy in the dug out towards the end of the Glamorgan game on Tuesday night.
But that’s what happens when the team is not playing with as much confidence as you would like.
In days gone by, we would have knocked those runs off comfortably and walked away pleased with the points. But it was never going to be an easy game because of the surface.
And, at the end of the day, in footballing terms, it was a bit like coming away with an ugly 1-0 win, which we really needed.
So that has lifted our confidence as we prepare for the holders Hampshire today.
And we are expecting a very good crowd for the Surrey game at the County ground on Friday.
It was our first loss to Surrey in 10 matches at the Oval last week. And that was a poor performance from us.
The Somerset game the night after was the Trescothick show, and we had to accept we were hammered by a better side. But we should have beaten Surrey and we will be looking to put one back over them on Friday night.
