Anybody who has had contact with Dr Basu professionally, can not but fail to have been impressed by his competency, efficiency and commitment to the health of his residents in the Shoebury area.
I differ from the callous approach of those people that have written to the Echo claiming he should not be shown any clemency or leniency with regard to his sentence for dangerous driving. Surely the number of lives he must have saved by his correct diagnosis and subsequent treatment over 36 years of dedication to his Shoebury patients, must count for something?
