The new houses being built on Markhams Chase, Laindon, are going to have a beautiful outlook on to trees and grassed playing fields, this will no doubt increase their desirability and value considerably, It will be a nice place to live. I know this because that is precisely the view, desirability and value Basildon Council has just taken away from me and my neighbours!
Having de-valued my property by a considerable amount and sold the land to fund the Sporting Village (which most of us didn’t want and will never use), I was wondering what the council might do to recompense my neighbours and me for the financial loss we have sustained in said devaluation of our homes and the utter misery, inconvenience, annoyance and total impossibility of the traffic problems it has just caused our community.
I don’t think we are going to like living on a building site for the next two years.
